Cutting Edge Graphic

Introduction

This area of the site is where I keep the work that has been produced for fun or just out of curiosity. Some of these projects are collaborations with other designers.

Personal projects are something I really enjoy doing, but rarely have the time to undertake. So don't expect this part of the site to be updated all that often!

Skate Decks

Click to view Skate board designs
Description:

Something I've always wanted to do and never got round to. I was planning to get some boards printed up many many moons ago, to accompany my main degree project when I exhibited in London. I never got round to it!

Although these are only screen designs, it would be nice to one day get some printed. I reckon they'd make a nice alternative to canvases or pictures mounted on a wall.

View the board designs. I've initially added a few - with plans of adding to them over time. So check back some time soon!

Numbers

Description:

Numbers is an experiment with light and typography. The effect was produced by over-exposing my SLR, then shooting a close-up of a counting sequence on a traditional TV. The process produced lots of wasted prints, but these came out quite nicely.

Metrovoyeurism

Description:

Metrovoyeurism is a short film exploring the relationships between people and the city, through streets and on public transport.

Focusing on the varied types of people moving around in today's modern cities, the audience is given an upclose and voyeuristic view into city life from cars, trains, bridges and buildings.

Metrovoyeurism also features a soundtrack mixed to reflect the movement and pace of the film's footage.

G.A Snowboard

Description:

A snowboard design for a friend. The G.A are his initials (Greg Ayles).

I've not seen the finished board as yet, but have been told it looks great and that he's scared to christen it!
