Flight 404

Came across the work of Robert Hodgin (Flight 404) today.

Via my new favourite design blog Reform & Revolution.

Using sound syncing technologies, his video work is very surreal. I especially like Solar with Lyrics, see below:

I never was one for talking (or writing)

Group 94
It’s been a while. Well, about 6 months I think.

I’ve thought about posting many times, but never actually got around to it.

I blame Facebook - The simple but effective community network website that seems to be ruling peoples lives at the moment. It’s good in some ways, as I’m now in touch with people I haven’t heard from in years, but it can equally be quite negative.

People I used to speak to on the phone, or have lengthy email banter with in the past are reduced to one liners in blue 11px Verdana type and a humorous 50px square image. Paul is…..

My lack of (B)logged findings could also be put down to the amount of “actual” work I’ve been doing, both in my 9-5 and 5-12 web workings.

Or due to the fact I’ve finally put a foot on the property ladder. Who knows?
But before I turn this post into a rant/excuse, I thought I’d add something of value:

The new Group94 site is finally live. And it’s been in the pipeline for a while. (Check out their videocasts, that have acted as holding pages throughout 2007)
Group94 for anyone who doesn’t know are a Belgium based interactive agency, with a portfolio to die for! I really go for their measured approach to design.

They have a strong focus on detail - impacting imagery, balanced with intuitive interaction and clear content.

Some highlights from their portfolio include:

…to name a few.

There done my bit. See you in 6 months!!

Las Vegas Sign Graveyard

Las Vegas signs by night

Great night photography. via an entry on Lessrain’s blog.

A great selection of shots showing redundant Las Vegas signage. All shot at night using various flashes and exposures. Giving a really surreal feel to the images.

Check them out on Flickr - shot by Troy aka “Lost America”
There are also a selection of shots from other abandoned places.
